Job Description: 

MSF-Operations Centre Amsterdam (MSF-OCA) is looking for a MEDICAL FOCAL POINT (MFP) for its project in EAST BALUCHISTAN. Positions Vacant: 

1. Medical Focal Point (MFP)

Duties / Responsibilities: In collaboration with the Project Coordinator and the rest of the team, the Medical Coordinator and MoH partners, defines implements and monitor medical activities according to the MSF project plan, standards, and protocols. This implies the following: Is responsible for medical data collection, analysis and reporting to the Medical Coordination in the capital, to ensure proper monitoring of the program Ensures regular contact with MoH, and other local authorities; advocate on behalf of MSF’s policy and program, as necessary and in collaboration with the Project Coordinator. Monitor activities in the different medical specialties, and provide technical support to medical personnel in the field, through self-knowledge and policies in support of MSF’s medical projects, include monitoring and ensuring compliance with the protocols of MSF. Supervises efficient management of the MSF field pharmacy and medical equipment, in conjunction with the Logistics, and monitors consumption follow-up and preparation of drug orders to avoid stock shortages and provide drugs at all circumstances. Implements the health policy for national and international staff. providing all prophylactic and preventive necessary measures, structures and emergency plans, managing any medical evacuation in order to ensure MSF staff health.

Qualification / Experience required for the job: Minimum medical doctor degree (MBBS) PMDC registered. Desirable: relevant postgraduate qualification in public health. public health management. maternal and child health. tropical medicine etc. 3 years of MSF experience in a management position or equivalent experience with an INGO or other sector (e.g. hospital etc.) Proficient in English and Urdu: desirable: command of any other relevant local language Ability to represent MSF with external contacts Ability to organize and prioritize workloads independently and pro-actively with less supervision, using initiative when appropriate. Ability to work under stress and in difficult circumstances Good interpersonal and communication and team management skills. Capacity to work in a multidisciplinary and international team. Commitment to humanitarian values as outlined in the MSF Charter.
