1. Chair, Community Health Sciences (CHS)
Responsibilities: You will provide dynamic leadership to the department for managing and developing education, research, and development activities at undergraduate, graduate, postgraduate, and continuing education levels at the University. You will also direct the teaching and research activities of the department and its overall growth in Public Health.
Qualification / Experience required for the following vacant position and job: A professional terminal degree in public health (Dr. PH, Ph.D., DSc or equivalent) or a physician with certification in a specialty directly related to public health (e.g. Community Medicine, Public Health & Preventive Medicine) An academic background with experience in independent research including securing of grant funding, publications and demonstrating an independently established portfolio of work Experience of an academic administrative post which may include administration of a department/section of graduate and Ph.D. programs in addition to considerable direct teaching hours of graduate teaching Experience of receiving and growing an established portfolio of research as well as facilitate the growth of other scientists Capability in network building, persuasive speaking, positive profiling, and collaborative governance with internal entities as well as externally with donor agencies, policy stakeholders, and civil society organizations to deliver impactful contributions to public policy
