Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) requires the services of a deputy Project Director” for the World Bank-funded project titled “Modernization of Hydromet Services of PMD in Pakistan (MHSP)”. Selection shall be made under “World Bank Procurement Regulations for Investment Project Financing Goods, Works, Non-Consulting and Consulting Services” November 2020. The project is likely to continue till 31 December 2028. Market competitive salary (negotiable) shall be paid on a fixed-term basis.
Positions Announced:
1. Deputy Project Director
Master’s degree (minimum sixteen years of education) or equivalent in Meteorology, Hydro-Meteorology, Geology, Physics, Mathematics, Environmental, Atmospheric and Earth Sciences, Engineering, Public Administration, Public Policy, Business Management, or any other relevant field from a reputable international or HEC-recognized national university. Fifteen years experience; after acquiring stipulated qualifications in a relevant field out of which at least five years’ experience in a senior position in a comparable project involving large-scale procurement and coordination with multiple stakeholders. Good knowledge of project management. Good knowledge of federal government procedures particularly those relating to the management of projects. Proficient in the use of computers (MS Office, Project Management Tools, etc.).
