Positions Announced:
1. Senior Manager (Strategy Development) Office of the Provost
Duties & Responsibilities: The candidate will advise and provide support to the Regional Vice Provost and Dean, Faculty of Arts (FAS) on the development of the academic strategy while assisting in executing its implementation, partnership, and funding plans. You will be in coordination with other academic units across AKU, particularly with the Institute for the Study of Muslim Civilisations (AKU-ISMC) in the United Kingdom. Specific responsibilities include Developing a vision, strategy, partnership and funding plans to support the academic strategy and AKU’s work across different regions Analysing, benchmarking and adopting international best practices in higher education in the Pakistan context Contributing to building strategy, processes and systems for programmes in Continuing Education and Lifelong Learning through a multi-sectoral / disciplinary approach Leading efforts to identify and take initiatives on new opportunities for programmatic integration and expansion in Gilgit-Baltistan and Chitral, in coordination with AKDN agencies or independently, specifically in areas of expertise and interest in AKU Providing administrative and management support to expand upon and evolve outreach programmes in collaboration with partner institutions Working with the Vice Provost for senior academic searches and recruitment in FAS Developing first drafts, final reports, and presentations for the Vice Provost, Board committee and other such forums
Qualification / Experience: A Master’s degree in anthropology/MBA/another relevant field from a reputable and recognized university At least 3 years of relevant experience in academic administration An understanding of the landscape of Higher Education in Pakistan and internationally The ability to think strategically while possessing a good understanding of the socio-cultural environment in Pakistan and able to build partnerships with external academic institutions and foundations Good planning and management skills, with the ability to apply these skills in effective working partnerships across the University Excellent verbal and writing skills, both in English and Urdu.
