Job Description:
Higher Education Commission, Pakistan is starting a World Bank-funded, Higher Education Development in Pakistan (HEDP) Project. The Project Coordination Unit has been set up under the Higher Education Commission for the HEDP project. Higher Education Commission requires the services of eligible, motivated and professional candidates are required for PCU based in Islamabad on a contract basis. Applications are invited to fill the following positions:
Positions Vacant:
1. Environmental Specialist
The number of vacant posts: 1 vacant post
Qualification / Experience required for the job: Postgraduate degree (18 years of education) in Environmental Sciences, Environmental Engineering or Environmental Studies. At least eight years of experience in environmental management related tasks/activities. Previous experience of working with the World Bank or equivalent international standards is required. Strong written and oral communications skills. Proven report writing skills. Proficiency in usage of computer desktop applications and office software packages
2. Project Coordinator
The number of vacant posts: 1 vacant post
Qualification / Experience required for the job: Bachelor’s/Master’s degree (16 years of education) from a reputable national/international University. 15 years of experience with at least five years working in a senior level capacity managing large complex projects with multiple stakeholders. Preference will be given to those who have experience in working on World Bank projects or similar international projects. Experience of interacting with senior-level policymakers and partner institutions. Experience in working in the education sector. Strong written and oral communications skills. Proficiency in usage of computer desktop applications and office software packages
3. Programme Specialist
The number of vacant posts: 1 vacant post
Qualification / Experience required for the job: Bachelor’s/Master’s degree (16 years of education) from a reputable national/international University. Eight years of experience, at least two of which should be in a management and/or advisory role. Strong written and oral communications skills. Proficiency in usage of computer desktop applications and office software packages
4. Programme Specialist-R&D
The number of vacant posts: 1 vacant post
Qualification / Experience required for the job: A postgraduate degree (18 years of education) from a reputable national/international University. 10 years of experience, preferably within R&D and academia. Good knowledge of industry environment of Pakistan/research advancements along with the international trends/competencies. Hands-on experience in report writing. Strong written and oral communications skills. Proficiency in usage of computer desktop applications and office software packages
Period of the Contract: Two years (extendable till the completion of the project based on the assessment of performance)
