Positions Announced:

1. DG Bureau of Statistics

Qualification / Experience: Ph.D in Economics/ Finance/ Development/ Statistics from an HEC-recognized university with 10 years of professional experience in the relevant field OR Master’s Degree in Economics/ Development Economics/Statistics from a recognized University with 14 years of experience in the relevant field.

Job Description:

The Director General, Bureau of Statistics, under overall guidance, supervision, and leadership of the Chairman, Planning & Development Board, Sindh is required to:

i. Supervise collection/compilation and tabulation of statistical data on socio-economic sectors of the province according to the
international requirements of Statistical Systems.

ii. Ensure the publication of statistical documents to disseminate statistical Information.

iii. Undertake Surveys and prepare their reports.

iv. Act as liaison between Federal and Provincial Governments on statistical matters.

v. Extend technical guidance and assistance to other provincial statistical cells as and when required with reference to their
technical problems in designing and conducting censuses and surveys, processing of data and preparing their reports.

vi. Prepare basic socio-economic indicators of the Province.

vil. Manage human, financial & oversight functions including procurement, audit, and fiduciary.

Requirements:

The individuals must have domicile/PRC of the Sindh Province. The individuals should not be above 62 years (to be calculated as on the closing date of submission of applications) The successful individual will be offered a Remuneration/Pay Package as per Sindh Management Position Scales Policy, 2022 vide SGA & CD’s Notification NO.SOIM(SGA&CD)6-32/2021, dated 29.12.2022. The initial contract period will be for two (02) years, extendable subject to satisfactory performance evaluation by the committee.
