An HEC funded research project titled “Control of dengue fever epidemic by detecting dengue fever virus and insecticide resistance in local Aedes mosquito population” is in progress at the College of Agriculture, University of Sargodha. Under this project, applications are invited for the following posts to be recruited on a contract basis for a period of two years (project duration). The project involves the extensive sampling of mosquito larvae and adults from six tehsils of district Sargodha, mosquito rearing, and laboratory bioassays of Aedes mosquito larvae and adults. The project also involves the molecular studies of mosquito resistance and dengue virus detection from the mosquito population. Applicants with knowledge and experience of insect rearing, toxicological bioassays, molecular biology, bioinformatics, and project handling will be preferred.
