The Central Power Purchasing Agency, Guarantee Ltd. (CPPA-G) is Public Sector company established under the Companies Ordinance, 1984 as a ‘Company Limited by Guarantee with the mandate to perform the functions and business of settlement and development of competitive power market procurement of electric power on behalf of DISCOS, including import of power from other countries verification of generation invoices under respective PPA billing to DISCOS under Commercial Code collection from DISCOs, and settlement to the market participants per Commercial Code management of cashflow, treasury management and relevant banking functions for collection and disbursement. Positions Vacant:
1. CEO
Qualification / Experience required for the job: The candidate should be a Fellow Member of Professional Body of Accountants (ICAP/ICMAP or others) or Graduate Engineer with MBA (Major in Finance) or Masters in Economics or Finance or a higher degree in such disciplines from reputable National or International institute recognized by HEC. The candidate should possess a minimum of 15 years of experience in senior management positions in large public / private sector organizations. Preference will be given to candidates having (a) Experience of working in a Public Sector Organization in the Power Sector of Pakistan, (b) Knowledge of Power Sector Planning & Contractual Framework (c) Demonstrate capability and experience of the candidate to improve back and front office business process through automation and, (d) Experience and a good understanding of legal, policy and regulatory framework of Power Sector of Pakistan. He/she should possess strong decision making/leadership skills and competence to steer the organization towards achieving its vision and mission. The ideal candidate should also possess exposure to working with international donors or financial institutions. The age of the candidate should not be more than 56 years as on the closing date of the Advertisement.
Job Role / Responsibilities: The CEO must have a strong capability to lead, organize, operate, and set priorities for the entire organization. The CEO will be responsible for: a. Overall management of Company operations and business b. For setting policies and management guidelines for efficient day-to-day operations; c. Effective coordination with concerned Ministries/Divisions and DISCOs, GENC0s, NTDC, NPCC, NEPRA PPIB, AEDB, etc. d. Ensure compliance with the legal, policy, and regulatory requirements; e. Financial management under Power sector Framework The CEO shall report to the Board of Directors of CPPA-G and the Secretary, Ministry of Energy (Power Division).
