Positions Announced:
1. Chancellors of Public Sector Universities of Balochistan
(a) Qualification: For comprehensive universities, Ph.D. in any discipline and a good academic record. In the case of a Medical / Health University, the relevant terminal qualification would be FCPS or equivalent in the case of Clinical Sciences and Ph.D. in the case of Basic Medical Sciences; and, for an Engineering University, Ph.D. in any engineering discipline. (b) Research: Excellent research publication record that, at a minimum, meet the criteria for appointment as a Professor in the university with a minimum of 20 peer-reviewed HEC-recognized publications. Preference would be given to journals indexed in the HRJS system of HEC (https://hjrs.hec.gov.pk ) (c) Experience: Experience of at least 20 years of teaching/research in any HEC-recognized university. At least five years of post-doctoral / administrative experience in the field of higher education. The candidates with experience in executing research projects, senior supervisory / leadership, including the Chairperson, Dean, Pro-VC, quality assurance, international linkages, etc., with a record of progressive responsibility and authority. (d) A separate strategic plan of not more than 800 words for the institution for which they apply is to be attached to the application. Note: Women are encouraged to apply. Terms & Conditions :(a). How to apply:
Applications will be considered only for the desired University. The Search Committee will shortlist the eligible candidates in a preview of Qualifications and experiences. The Search Committee shall have the mandate to search and headhunt persons eligible under the criteria for the positions of Vice Chancellors. The Vice-Chancellor shall be appointed by the Chancellor on the recommendations of the Government on terms and conditions as determined by the Government. The persons proposed by the Search Committee for appointment as Vice-Chancellor shall be presented before the Government through the Secretary of the Search Committee as a panel of three in alphabetical order along with points scored by each candidate. The Government after approval shall submit the same name of one candidate from amongst the panel to the Chancellor for appointment as Vice-Chancellor. The Government has the mandate to decline to appoint any of the three persons recommended and seek fresh recommendations from a panel.
