Positions Vacant: 

1. Principal Officer Mercantile Marine Department

Qualification / Experience: Certificate of Competency as First Class Engineer (Combined or Motor). At least three years as Chief Engineer of ships not less than 373 BHP or Two years for Candidates holding Extra-First Class Engineer’s Certificate At least three years experience in any of one of the following capacities.-: i. Engineer and Ship Surveyor (or equivalent post) in any Mercantile Marine Department of a country. Preferably at least two years’ experience as Examiner of Marine Engineers
OR
Certificate of Competency as Master of a Foreign Going Ships. At least three years in command of ships or Two years for candidates holding Extra Master Certificate / B.Sc (Technology in Maritime Studies). At least three years’ experience in any one of the following capacities i. Nautical Surveyor (or equivalent post) in any Mercantile Marine Department of a country. ii. Surveyor in a recognized classification society. Preferably at least two-year experience as Examiner of Master and Mates.

2. Chief Nautical Surveyor 

Qualification / Experience: Certificate of Competency as Master of a Foreign Going Ships. At least three years in command of ships or Two years for candidates holding Extra Master Certificate / B.Sc (Technology in Maritime Studies). At least three years’ experience in any one of the following capacities. i. Nautical Surveyor (or equivalent post) in any Mercantile Marine Department of a country ii. Surveyor in a recognized classification society. Preferably at least two-year experience as Examiner of Master and Mates.

3. Chief Engineer & Ship Surveyor

Qualification / Experience: Certificate of Competency as First Class Engineer (Combined or Motor). At least three years as Chief Engineer of ships not less than 373 BHP or Two years for Candidates holding Extra-First Class Engineer’s Certificate. At least three years’ experience in any one of the following capacities.-. i. Engineer and Ship Surveyor (or equivalent post) in any Mercantile Marine Department of a country Preferably at least two years’ experience as Examiner of Marine Engineers.

4. Deputy Chief Nautical Surveyor

Qualification / Experience: Certificate of Competency as Master of a Foreign Going Ships. At least three years in command of ships or Two years for candidates holding Extra-Master’s Certificate / B Sc. (Technology in Maritime studies)]. At least three years’ experience in the following capacity. [three years in case of persons belonging to category (i)] Nautical Surveyor (or equivalent post) in any Mercantile Marine Department of a country. A surveyor or in a recognized Classification Societ

5. Engineer & Ship Surveyor

Qualification / Experience: Certificate of Competency as First Class Engineer (Combined or Motor). At least two years experience as Chief Engineer of a ship not less than 373 BHP OR One year for candidate holding Extra First Class Engineer’s Certificate.
